If you enjoyed last year, you know you will want to return and if you missed out, you KNOW you want to make it this year! The celebration will incorporate all the best parts of the god Dionysus with wine, song, … and other wholesome celebrations people drawn to the theatre enjoy.
Like the inaugural ball there will be karaoke, dancing, refreshments, memories of past successes and toasts to future triumphs!
Save the date of April 13th to buy your ticket for the Thespian Ball held at the Palace Theatre. Then go through your closet (or go shopping if you prefer) to find some fancy duds and get ready to party the night away!

Presented by the Old East Village BIA, The Palace Theatre Arts Commons, and The London Magicians’ Guild.

Experience three mesmerizing shows of adult-contemporary magic at our OEV PALACE OF WONDERS events! Each salon will feature a different lineup of talented local performers from the London Magicians’ Guild, resulting in a captivating blend of unique styles and mind-bending illusions. No two shows will be alike!
Prepare to be astounded as both professional magicians, and highly-skilled magic enthusiasts, showcase their awe-inspiring tricks and illusions, taking you on a wondrous journey into the realm of sophisticated, adult-contemporary magic.
Three evenings of wonder and enchantment that will leave you spellbound! Our first two performance dates will be close-up and personal, in the intimate surroundings of Procunier Hall, with our larger finale, “Le Grand Spectacle”, taking place on the Palace Main Stage, wrapped in the nostalgic surroundings of our period 1923 movie house.

Dazed and Confused (Movie)

Dazed and Confused is a 1993 American coming-of-age comedy film written and directed by Richard Linklater. The film follows a variety of teenagers on the last day of school in Austin, Texas in 1976. The film has no single protagonist or central conflict, rather following interconnected plot threads among different social groups and characters, such as rising ninth graders undergoing hazing rituals, a football star's refusal to sign a clean living pledge for his coach, and various characters hanging out at a pool hall. The film features a large ensemble cast of actors who would later become stars, including Jason London, Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich, Cole Hauser, Parker Posey, Adam Goldberg, Matthew McConaughey, Nicky Katt, Joey Lauren Adams, and Rory Cochrane.

You may think you know your fairy tales, but not the way Dad tells them.

PIRATES! Theodore Thud and the Quest for Weird Beard

A friendly game of pirates becomes all too real when overzealous Theodore accidentally falls into a giant sinkhole and wakes up to find himself amongst real high sea swashbucklers. Before getting back to the real world, he is forced on an epic journey with his companion Harriet the Ghost in a quest to find the notorious pirate Weird Beard and foil the mutinous Mr. Clunky Bones. Will Theodore be able to save Captain Cramp Hand's ship from falling into evil clutches and return to his friends in time for ice cream?

Always entertaining and definitely unique, the Mudmen are a blast of Celtic energy whose members are known to be characters both on and off the stage. Enjoy an all-ages evening of Celtic music & Mud stories from Canada’s Celtic Rock Warriors. First discovered in 1993 as the Campbell Brothers, Sandy & Rob signed a record deal with EMI Records changing their name to Mudmen in 1998. Mudmen have had music featured on Xbox and PlayStation video games, NBC’s television show The Black Donnelly's, WWE Wrestling, 6 Don Cherry Rock’em Sock’em hockey DVD’s, HBO’s Shameless, HNIC Coach’s Corner, 6 music videos on Much Music reaching #19 on the Edge Radio countdown. In 2008, Sandy & Rob Campbell performed on the new Hockey Night in Canada hockey anthem where Ron MacLean said televised “Mudmen we love’em”. THE LARAMIE PROJECT

In October 1998, 21-year-old Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming. His bloody, bruised, and battered body was not discovered until the next day, and he died several days later in an area hospital. He was the victim of this assault because he was gay. Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theatre Project made 6 trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half, in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the 2 young men accused of killing Shepard. They conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of the town and constructed a deeply moving theatrical experience from these interviews and their own experiences in Laramie.
