AUDITION NOTICE

 

For LCP’s 50th Season
Opener, Pirates of Penzance playing
on the Mainstage from September 26-October 6, 2024 with rehearsals starting
June 24th.

 

For this exhilarating
adaptation of the classic Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, Pirates of Penzance, get ready to experience a swashbuckling adventure like never before! This production takes a bold and modern approach
by updating the music with pop/rock/rap styling, bringing a fresh and contemporary vibe to the beloved show. With some gender-swapped casting, the characters come to life in exciting new ways, challenging traditional roles and adding an extra layer of intrigue.

traditional casting list. Genders will not necessarily be as listed. Bold/Italics will be swapped. Underlined will not be swapped. Others could be swapped. Ensemble roles will be cross cast throughout. Actors should indicate their interest at auditions.

Auditions are scheduled for
May 23 6:30-9:30 pm, May 24 6:30-9:30 pm, May 25 3:00-6:00 pm with Callbacks
May 26 1:30-4:30 pm. Auditions will take place at the Annex at 523
South Street.

 Auditions will require one song, some cold readings are possible and some movement at callbacks. Songs should suit the vocalist’s strengths and do not need to be from the G&S songbook.

Rehearsals are scheduled for Mon-Thurs evenings from 6:30-9:30 beginning June 24th. There will be NO rehearsals on Holiday Mondays through the summer.
